We’re excited to announce that Bellwether Housing and Stewardship Partners are officially on board with the Melrose Promenade project.
Bellwether Housing is an affordable housing developer headquartered at the corner of Bellevue Avenue and Olive Way, just a block east of Melrose. On its website, Bellwether says: “Bellwether meets the need for affordable rents by buying, building and managing apartments in urban locations.” And, it adds: “Commitment to social justice and environmental sustainability are evident in all our efforts.”
Stewardship Partners is non-profit organization that helps private landowners restore and preserve the natural landscapes of Washington State. Stewardship Partners will be working with us to pursue green storm water solutions that could become a part of the Promenade.
On its website, Stewardship Partners says: “We collaborate with diverse interest groups to build bridges and find solutions that achieve mutual goals of environmental protection, economic health, and community well being. Our projects restore fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality, protect open space, and “green up” the built environment while maintaining working landscapes of farms, forestland, and livable communities throughout the State.”
